On 7-8th September, Happy City will run it’s Wellbeing Champions Training in central Bristol. Six of the 12 places have gone, including two participants from Leeds, and the next opportunity is not scheduled until 5-6th January 2017.
This comprehensive 2-day programme equips people with all they need to deliver 5 Ways to Wellbeing sessions with work colleagues or in local communities.

- Understanding of the evidence base for the 5 ways of wellbeing
- Basic understanding of how to handle different individual learning styles
- Introduction to applied positive psychology
- Introduction to mindset and practices for effective learning
- Development of personal delivery style, building on strengths
- Preparation & delivery of a 5 Ways to wellbeing session
- All materials needed to get started
- Personal action plan for delivery
- Permission to deliver Happy City’s 5 Ways to Wellbeing workshop within your organisation, or for free within your community
- Access to online Wellbeing Champions forum wit further resources, updates and support
- Ongoing support of the Wellbeing Champions Network
Here’s what one of the first group of trainees had to say after the programme in May this year.
“The teaching approach of the Wellbeing team from the beginning to the end was excellent; it made me feel relaxed, and motivated me to give my undivided attention to new ways of learning and thinking”
Chand Ansari, Awaz Utaoh, Bristol
..and here are some comments from people who attended a 5 Ways session run by a different, newly qualified Wellbeing Champion a few weeks later:
‘It was very simple to understand. I will apply to what I do in the future. I feel positive afterwards’
‘I have found this very useful. It is good to see areas that I need to improve and what I already do’
‘I really enjoyed this, it was fun and also thought provoking. Really helpful, thank you’
The programme has been carefully designed to lay a strong yet simple and practical foundation which we know works. There’s a strong focus to build on participants individual training styles to help them bring materials to life and deliver sessions with confidence in a relaxed and stimulating way.
Happy City plans to help large numbers of people by training trainers, with a target of more than 200 Wellbeing Champions at work in cities across the UK by 2017.
With two groups qualified in September 2016, we’ll start building up a powerful peer to peer support network with resources to maintain and boost everyone’s work as a Wellbeing Champion on an ongoing basis.
The all inclusive price for both days with all learning materials is £750.00. No VAT will be charged.
Reserve your place on the September course by mailing info@happycity.org.uk. We’ll send an invoice and your booking will be confirmed on receipt of full payment.
We hope you’ll join us early on this exciting journey
