Bristol’s Happy City Initiative aims to engage over 10,000 people in the world’s first validated measure of a city’s wellbeing.
The Happiness Pulse, a new low cost way of collecting detailed information about wellbeing is being launched on April 26th 2016 after 5 years in development with international experts. The Happiness Pulse can be used to help individuals, communities, organisations and policy-makers. Everyone can check their wellbeing needs and strengths, and different ways of building wellbeing, and organisations can measure social value and impact.
Organisations can sign up for a free trial for the next 6 weeks, getting a unique url which identifies the data set to offer combined results at the end of the trial period in September 2016. From the Autumn on, the Happiness Pulse will be licenced out on a sliding scale of fees.
Every individual participant gets their own feedback about strengths and needs, together with a wide range of videos, reading and tips to develop wellbeing.
To take part, simply write to index@happycity.org.uk and you’ll receive your unique code to get organisational results, plus tips how to use the results as a baseline, what to do before and after evaluation, and something about ongoing monitoring of personal wellbeing.
This study will set a landmark in global research into valuing wellbeing in cities. We have yet to find a comparable system designed to work from the bottom up (for individuals and organisations/communities) as well as it does from the top down (for policy makers at city, region or national levels) – so it’s an exciting time to get involved.
Don’t just take our word for it though – our approach has been recognised as ground-breaking by people all over the world.
Be part of it.
